1. Weather Warnings
Our first top tip is to make sure that you're prepared for any weather situation that might turn out on the day. The first way to do this is to consider the country and the time of year you are getting married. Check how likely it is that the weather could be alternative, and then make alternative arrangements accordingly. These could include having umbrellas or a gazebo ready, having an indoor location to move to, or having a shady place for people to stand under if it's too sunny. No amount of preparation in this respect is worth overlooking; the risk is too high.
2. Light It Up
Lighting is such a crucial part of any event. The way the space is lit sets the entire tone for the wedding. For example, candles or fairy lights can create an incredibly romantic atmosphere, but if there are no main lights to compliment this, it may be too dark to see people's faces. When the ceremony takes place you want to make sure the bride and groom are lit up, and at the reception the dancefloor needs to have optimal lights for boogie-ing; we're talking disco vibes. Whatever you go for, the lighting element of a wedding is not something to be overlooked. After all, we need those wedding pictures to come out perfect.
3. Technical Arrangements
Nowadays wedding invites are mostly sent online. This is better for the environment, and it can also be incredibly useful in terms of keeping in contact with guests. Setting up a wedding website is our top tip here, as this website will be sent along with the save the date invitations. This gives people something to refer back to, and also will be responsible for sending the reminders closer to the big day. If people RSVP by the website, then they can be sent any necessary informative emails, and they can also check back on the website to see the wedding photos uploaded there afterwards. A super neat and handy idea.
4. Time Management
Once the dancing has started, it's hard to know when it's going to end. For this reason, it's incredibly important to have spoken to the events space beforehand to make sure you're in the know about overtime arrangements. If you stay longer than expected, will there be extra costs? What is the absolute latest that you can actually stay? Would the staff be willing to stay longer? All of these questions and details related to this are great to have forward planned, in order to make the actual evening as least stressful as possible, knowing that whatever the outcome, it's all sorted and ok.
5. Belongings Duty
Once everyone has had a few champagnes, the ability to look after personal belongings kind of goes out the window. This is fine, it just means that a great idea is to have someone responsible for 'lost and found' duty. This means that one person has already been designated as the individual in charge of rounding up everything left behind until they can return it to their original owner. This will also be a great relief to the people who wake up the next morning with a bit of a headache realizing their wallet is nowhere to be found...
So there we have our top tips for making sure no wedding detail is overlooked. Following this advice will mean your wedding day runs as smoothly as it should.
